Virtual Reality Graded Exposure Therapy (VRGET)

Virtual Reality Graded Exposure Therapy (VRGET) Is A Highly Effective Treatment Method For Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder, And Agoraphobia. With Decreasing Technology Costs And Increased Availability Of Broadband Internet Service, VRGET Is Poised To Become A Widely Used And Cost-Effective Solution For Panic Attacks, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Agoraphobia, Social Phobia, And Specific Phobias. Similar To In-Vivo And Imaginal Exposure Therapy, VRGET Aims To Desensitize Patients To Anxiety-Inducing Situations Or Objects. Controlled Studies Have Shown That VRGET Surpasses Conventional Imaginal Exposure Therapy (Using Mental Imagery) And Is On Par With In-Vivo Exposure Therapy In Terms Of Effectiveness. This Therapy Is Particularly Beneficial For Individuals Who Struggle With Conventional Exposure Therapy And Remain Impaired Due To A Lack Of Desensitization To Their Fears.

VRGET Effectively Treats Various Anxiety Disorders, Including Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder With Agoraphobia, And Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). At Al-Harub Medical Center (AHMC), We Take Pride In Being The First Mental Health Center In Muscat To Introduce This Groundbreaking Therapy To The Omani Community. Our Lead Therapist, Nutaila, Underwent Specialized Training Conducted By The American Psychological Association In San Francisco In August 2017, And Since Then, We Have Successfully Integrated VRGET Into Our Practice At AHMC.
